President Merrill J. Bateman has honored 12 Brigham Young University administrative and staff members with the university's annual President's Appreciation Awards.
The awards, which recognize outstanding performance, creativity, personal traits and commitment to the university, were presented at a recent banquet hosted by Bateman.Recipients included Colleen M. Bement, an administrative assistant in Benefits and Employee Relations/EEO; E. Curtis Fawson, director of the Instructional Technology Center; Enoc Flores, an international student adviser with International Services in Student Life; H. Brent Harker, director of the Office of BYU Public Communications; A. Gary Hopkinson, dance production manager for the department of dance; Bruce A. Patrick, senior designer for University Publications and Graphics; Joseph E. Bussio, a digital technician in the department of electrical and computer engineering; Howard L. Carpenter Jr., who began his BYU service as a gardener in 1959; Denise Gibbons Davis, secretary to the graduate faculty in the College of Nursing; Carolyn Hone, secretary of the Humanities Research Center; William F. McCausland of the BYU carpenter shop; and Eric W. Tullis of the custodial department.
