A Fairpark man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in the New Year's Eve shooting of Andrew Segura and Robert Enriquez.

Jerry Wayne Eades, 25, was charged with the second-degree felony counts in 3rd District Court Wednesday. Eades is subject to an en-hanced gang penalty because the offense was committed with two or more people, the charges state.Segura suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, puncturing his lung and aorta, during a fight at 1574 S. 400 East, the charges state. He spent several months in the hospital in a coma.

Enriquez was shot in the hand during the fight. Neighbors reported the fight erupted during a party that evening.

The charges state Eades fled the crime scene in a car driven by female and carrying one other occupant. Bail has been set at $200,000.
