He also was charged with riot and felony criminal mischief.Amagrande was arrested after Washington County sheriff's Detective Steve Stovall passed him in a car near Toquerville. The car belonged to Amagrande's girlfriend, April Bernbrock, 19, also of Hurricane.

Bernbrock was arrested earlier this week on a charge of witness tampering. She is accused of threatening the main witness in the shooting case, 22-year-old Hurricane resident Jason Conner.

Amagrande was scheduled to go to trial on Monday in a separate case, in which he is accused of threatening another person with a baseball bat. He was charged with threatening with a dangerous weapon and interfering with a legal arrest, both misdemeanor charges, following the Nov. 23, 1996, incident at The Tomb, a former dance club in St. George.
