With a grateful sigh and no regrets, our mother and grandmother, put aside life's burden and departed our world May 11, 1997.
Born Vivian June Mickel, June 23, 1915 to Luther and Eva Richardson Mickel in Tacoma, Washington. Married Raymond J. Banks in Elko, Nevada September 24, 1950 and shared 46 years of loving marriage.She is survived by her son, Lou Michael and his wife, Janet; grandson, Lou Michael II, and his wife, Leigh; Christopher John and Nicholas Montoya Banks; niece, Sharon June Oelke; honorary son and daughter, Elden and Joyce Blackburn; honorary granddaughters, Heidi Jean, Sara Ann Blackburn; great-grandson, Brady Taylor Moffitt; brothers-in-law, Joseph Banks, Frederick Banks, Eugene and Ernest Pacioni; and sister-in-law, Lucille Schwender. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond James; granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Banks; sister, Carol Watt; and brother, Bud Mickel.
June was loving and entirely devoted to her husband, son and grandchildren. We-her children-shall greatly miss her but will feel the warmth of her smile in every sunset and never forget her love the rest of the days of our lives.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South. A vigil service will be held Thursday, 7 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may visit Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Committal Service, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave & T. Street.
