Anthony Ray Westley maintained his innocence to the end, insisting while strapped inside the Texas death chamber that he did not kill a bait shop owner in a robbery 13 years ago.

"I didn't shoot your husband," Westley, 36, told Eileen Hall, widow of murdered store owner Frank Hall, just before he was executed Tuesday evening. "I really didn't. I want you to believe. I didn't kill him."Hall stood with her daughter and two sons, watching through a window as Westley received lethal injection. Six minutes later he was pronounced dead.
