Paul B. Pearson died May 9, 1997 in Reno, Nev.

Born Nov. 28, 1905 in Oakley, Utah the son of Levi and Ada Brown Pearson. He received his B.S. degree from BYU (1928), M.S. (1930) from Montana State and Ph.D. (1937) from U. Wisconsin in Biochemistry. Texas A&M (1941-47) Prof. and dept. head of biochemistry and nutrition, dean of the graduate school. U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (1949-58), Chief of Biology division. Professor at Johns Hopkins U. (1951- 58), Scientific Director of the Ford Foundation in New York (1958-63), President of the Nutrition Foundation, NY (1963-72), Drexel U. (1972-73), Professor and chairman of the nutrition dept., U of Arizona, Professor of family and community medicine; dept. of nutrition food science (1974-present), University Autonoma Guadalajara (Mexico) (1974-present), and Prof. and chief of nutrition. Also he is the author or co-author of more than 160 scientific publications and co-editor of two books on International Nutrition. Preceded in death by his wife, Emma Snow (married 50 years).Survived by his two daughters Mrs. Raymond (Paula) Soller , Duluth, GA, and Mrs. Walter (Marilyn) Johnson, Reno, NV; nine grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; two brothers Lee Pearson, Arlington, VA and Albert Pearson, Salem, Oregon, and two sisters Harriet Mulliner, American Fork, and Naomi Lopez, Seattle, WA.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 16, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel (49 East 100 North American Fork). Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
