Aa South Cottonwood man died Tuesday when his motorcycle rear-ended a dump truck.

Killed was: James Williams, 41, South Cottonwood.

Williams and a friend had left the Cotton Bottom Inn, 2820 E. 6200 South, driving their high-performance motorcycles on 6200 South when the accident occurred, said Salt Lake county Sheriff's Lt. Larry Marx.

About 11:15 p.m., Williams' motorcycle hit the rear of a dump truck owned by Gibbons and Reed near 3000 East, Marx said. Deputy sheriff Larry Stratford said the truck, driven by Robert Hundley, 56 was carrying debris from construction on State Street.
