After getting slapped around for 33 hits and 29 runs in the first two games of their series with Tacoma, the Salt Lake Buzz struck back Thursday.

All nine batters had hits and starter Travis Miller pitched six solid innings as the Buzz blasted the Rainiers 9-4 at Franklin Quest Field."We got what we were looking for," said Salt Lake manager Phil Roof. "That's what the doctor ordered."

Miller upped his record to 4-2 by allowing just one run and four hits in six innings.

"I knew I had to come in and throw well," said Miller. "Especially the way (Tacoma) is swinging the bat."

His Buzzmates wasted little time providing support. Salt Lake built a 4-0 lead in the first four innings. Tacoma pushed a score over in the fifth before the Buzz put the game out of reach in the sixth with five runs on six hits.

Salt Lake second baseman Jon Shave started the barrage by extending his team-high hitting streak to 14 games with an RBI double.

"He just keeps hitting," said Roof. "That's what we want."

And every Buzz batter obliged with hits as Salt Lake recorded 15 in the contest.

Jamie Ogden tripled, Pedro Castellano and Chad Rupp doubled, and Darrin Jackson singled in runs as the Buzz took a 9-1 lead into the final three innings.

The Rainiers tagged Salt Lake reliever Keith Linebarger for a pair of two-out homers in the eighth that reduced the deficit by three runs. Dan Rohrmeier and former Buzzman Kevin Reimer produced Tacoma's only thunder in the tilt.

The eight-game homestand concludes tonight at 7 with Salt Lake LHP Mark Redman (1-2, 5.11 ERA) facing Tacoma RHP Paul Menhart (1-2, 5.48).
