SHARE Scout-O-Rama to hail pioneers

Pioneers of many cultures will be honored through "Windows to the World," the theme for the 1997 Scout-O-Rama Saturday at the Utah State Fairpark.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ty Detmer, Brigham Young University quarterback Steve Sarkisian and University of Utah defensive back Harold Lusk will be grand marshals at the Scouting extravaganza, which begins with a VIP breakfast at 8:30 a.m.President James E. Faust, second counselor in the LDS Church's First Presidency, will represent the church at Scout-O-Rama.

Those in the grand parade will step off at 9:30 a.m., with opening ceremonies scheduled at 10. Events, demonstrations and displays to follow include a memorabilia "trade-o-ree," mountain bike races, pioneering projects made of logs, an American Indian village, an international showcase, a Dutch oven cook-off, Scouting derbies, a 5K run and a performance by singers and dancers.
