Several establishad frequent-flier plans are making changes, and one program has recently made its debut.
Tower Air has inaugurated a program in which 10 one-way domestic flights earn a one-way domestic ticket, and 20 one-way domestic flights earn a single one-way international ticket. Five one-way international flights earn either two one-way domestic tickets or a one-way international ticket. Tickets from charter flights are not eligible. There are no time limits to earn or redeem flights or blackout dates.After the first free flight has been earned, participants may use the airline's business class check-in counters and lounges at Kennedy Airport in New York and in Tel Aviv. Trans World Airlines has a new policy for redeeming unrestricted frequent-flier awards. TWA's Frequent Flight Bonus Program, (800) 325-4815, allows travel at peak periods, if a seat is available, without seating limitations or blackout dates at double the usual mileage. For example, an unrestricted round-trip domestic economy-class ticket can be confirmed for 40,000 miles; the same ticket can be had for 20,000 miles, subject to seat limitations and blackout dates.
Dollar Rent-A-Car recently became the fifth car rental partner in Delta Air Lines' frequent-flier program, SkyMiles, (800) 323-2323. Members earn 500 miles by renting a car at any Dollar or EuroDollar location. No flight is required to earn mileage. To inaugurate the affiliation, the program will offer double mileage on rentals for two days or more that begin on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday through June 15. Princess Hotels International is the newest partner in America West's frequent-flier plan. Members of FlightFund, (800) 247-5691, earn 500 miles for stays at one of eight participating Princess Hotels resorts. No flight is required to earn mileage.
