Scott Wayne Bennett, 53, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997 in Colorado Springs, CO., following a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born December 28, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to George H. and Norma E. Bennett. He was raised in Syracuse, Utah. He graduated from Davis High School and from Utah State University. He married Christine Layton, July 21, 1961. They were later divorced. He married Marie Clayton, September 9, 1977. They were later divorced. Scott loved to golf and enjoyed the outdoors. He worked for the Department of Agriculture for several years and has spent most of his years working in recreational property sales at Bear Lake, Mt. Pleasant, Timberlakes, Colorado Springs and many years in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He met his special sweetheart, Liana Winans, in Mexico.He is survived by his sweetheart, Liana, of Colorado Springs, CO; two sons and three daughters, Blaine (Shannan) Bennett, Brock Bennett, Teresa (Tracy) Weeks, all of Layton; Brittany and Tiffany Bennett, of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Jay (Shirley), Roy; Val (Gerrie), St. George; Wendell (Marilyn), Bountiful; Ellery (LeAnne), Battle Ground, WA; Connie (Richard) Murphy, Salt Lake City; Dorothy (Glen) Bouy, Syracuse; one sister-in-law, Diane Bennett, Layton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, G. Floyd Bennett.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 2 at 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City.
