There's good news for collectors of U.S. stamps.

The 1998 Scott catalog, Volume I, features more than 10,000 increases in stamp values of the United States and of U.S. possessions. Other countries in the volume boasting increases include Australia, Austria, Andorra and Belgium.Volume I contains the United States and those countries whose names begin with A and B.

The inverted "Richard Nixon" variety (Scott 2955) discovered and sold last year with much publicity, has been declared "stolen printer's waste" by U.S. postal inspectors and charges have been filed against the alleged thief.

Scott has announced that this stamp will not be listed. A footnote has been included, however, explaining its existence and status.

The cover price of the 1998 Volume I catalog is $35 and is available at your local stamp dealer or can be obtained from Scott Publishing Co., P.O. Box 828, Sidney, OH 45365-0828.
