Operation Smile and the Covey Leadership Center will co-sponsor the Sharpen the Saw Run Saturday, May 10, at the Provo River Canyon Trail.

The race will include a 5K run/walk, a 10K wheelchair event and a 10K run.The first Sharpen the Saw Run held last year was the first partnership between Operation Smile and the Covey Leadership Center. All proceeds from the race will go to Operation Smile, a nonprofit organization providing reconstructive surgery for children in Utah, the United States and developing countries around the world.

"The run has the goal of raising funds for the surgeries of 24 children who were born with physical deformities, so they can smile," said Jeff Johnson, the committee chairman of the 1997 Sharpen the Saw Run.

Participants can preregister at the Covey Outlet Store at 1958 S. 950 East in Provo. Other preregistration locations include Gold's Gym in Lindon and Provo, and American Covers Inc. in Draper.
