Anna Hilda Wittwer Stucki Cabell, age 90, died May 6, 1997 at St. George, Utah.
She was born May 14, 1906 in Santa Clara, Utah to Anna Alvina Graff and John Samuel Wittwer. Her mother died when she was 16 years of age, and her father died two years later, leaving her with the care of two younger brothers. She married Harvey Stucki, January 26, 1927 in the St. George Temple. He died December 27, 1947 leaving her with a young family to raise. She later married John Cecil Cabell on February 20, 1961. He died September 22, 1996.Hilda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions in her ward and stake. She enjoyed working in the St. George Temple for many years. She was actively involved in her community and served on the Santa Clara Town Board and Beautification Committee. She was a hard worker all her life and was especially helpful to her husband, Harvey, in establishing his trucking and food distribution business.
She was a generous, kind, and gracious lady, always willing to help her neighbors, friends, and family. She loved to work in her garden, and her beautiful roses were in attendance at sacrament meetings for many years.
She is survived by two daughters and three sons, Cleo Mathis (Jack); Ila Claire Lundberg (Jim); H. Bruce Stucki (Cheryl), St. George, Utah; John Wesley Stucki (Martha) Durham, Oregon; Stephen W. Stucki (Pearl), Santa Clara, Utah; 26 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Lester Guy Wittwer, Santa Clara, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Valley Chapel in Santa Clara, Utah. Friends may call at Metcalf Mortuary on Friday, May 9 from 6:30-8 p.m. and also Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment: Santa Clara Cemetery.
