I have had it clear up to my neck with those blubbering liberals on how Newt Gingrich is paying off his ethics debt. He had all kinds of options open and chose the best one.
No matter what option he chose, liberals would still have screamed bloody murder. I truly wish that he had taken a leaf out of the White House and DNC's book, but he didn't.Gingrich couldn't sell a one-night stay in the Lincoln bedroom for $100,000. Slick Willie has that all tied up. But he could have let them sit in the speaker's chair at $100,000 a day. He couldn't let people ride on Air Force One and Two for $25,000. Clinton and Gore have those two planes all tied up. But he could have let them ride short trips in his official limousine at $25,000 a trip.
He couldn't let them have coffee with him at the White House for up to $50,000. The DNC has sole rights to that. But he could let them eat hamburgers with him at McDonald's for a like amount. That is a public place. He could have set up a defense fund and had people contribute to it like Clinton did. He could have also sat in his speaker's office and solicited money on the telephone and used the office's telephone card to pay for the calls. Al Gore did.
