The 4th annual Gone Fishin' with Key Bank Day, a free fishing event for kids, will be May 17 at Fairmont Park.
Kids between the ages of five and 14 will be able to fish, win prizes, get a free meal of a hotdog and drink and learn more about the fishes of Utah.Invitations are limited and are available at three Key Bank locations - 130 W. 2100 South, 5101 S. State St. and 1939 W. 4700 South - and at Fish Tech Outfitters, 6153 S. Highland Dr.
The event will include a Pathways to Fishing program put on by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Wildlife officers will give brief instruction on such things as types of fish in Utah and how to fish for them.
Kids will also be able to spend time around the Fairmont pond fishing. Poles and instruction will be provided. Each child will be able to catch and keep up to two fish.
They will also be treated to hotdogs donated by Smiths and cooked by the chefs from Gastronomy, get a drink donated by Coca-Cola and win prizes donated by Fish Tech and Key Bank.
