Eight years ago, Bob Hope and Rosemary Clooney teamed up during a summer theater appearance to do a song called "Old Friends." On Sunday, Hope's wife, Dolores Hope, will do the same number with Clooney when they open an engagement at Rainbow and Stars in New York.
"Rosie is going to introduce me as her protegee, and I am old enough to be her mother," Dolores Hope said Thursday. She is 88; Clooney, 68.Delores Hope was a nightclub singer in the 1930s and performed with her husband in his vaudeville act before retiring to raise their four children. Over the years, she toured with him when he entertained U.S. troops overseas, and three years ago she made her first album.
This week her fourth album, "That's Love" was released and last week she was given her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
