W.W. "Ross" Rostet, 90, figures he's a slow student. He's finishing up his bachelor's degree in accounting - nearly 70 years after he dropped out to work as an accountant.
On Saturday, he'll don cap and gown to collect his diploma as a member of the Rogers University class of 1997."I haven't begun to feel the relief yet," Rostet said Thursday.
He returned to college part-time at age 70, earned an associate's degree six years ago and took his final exam for his bachelor's in accounting this week.
Rostet started college in 1928 at the University of Tulsa but left the following year to work in accounting for Phillips Petroleum Co. He worked for two accounting firms and ran his own practice for 15 years. He still works part-time at home, consulting and preparing tax returns.
After graduating, Rostet isn't one to rest on his laurels.
"I believe in the fall I'll go back to Tulsa Community College and find out some more about computers," he said.
