The International Screenwriting Competition, sponsored by several Hollywood production companies, is being held to find new material to produce for motion pictures and television.
All material submitted will be read and evaluated by professional readers for the film and television companies. The first- prize winner for the competition will receive a $2,500 cash prize. If the material is well-received, it may be considered for development or production.Entrants in the competition must submit either a full-length screenplay, television script (for either a half-hour or hour-long series), novel (up to 300 pages) or short story.
Contest fees are $45 for the first entry, $20 for each additional entry. There is no limit for the number of entries a contestant may submit. The contest begins Oct. 1 and ends Dec. 1. Winners will be announced on Jan. 1, 1998.
