Hundreds of women judges from throughout the nation will gather in Salt Lake City this week for the 19th annual conference of the National Association of Women Judges.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will deliver the keynote address on Saturday, Sept. 27. She will also participate in a panel discussion earlier that day titled "Stereotypic Remedies: The Question of Gender, Race and Ethnic Neutrality."The conference will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.

The theme of this year's conference is "Therapeutic Justice." Participating judges will focus on the interaction of the courts and communities in dealing with the problems of drug abuse, domestic violence and abused and neglected children.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of accessibility to courts by disabled people, developments in family law and challenges posed by technology and ethics to issues of birth and death. One seminar will address the topic of judicial responses to the media, judicial conduct boards and the public.
