A trio of hotels has opened this year on Malta, the island in the Mediterranean between Sicily and North Africa.
The Westin Dragonara Resort in St. Julian's, a main city of Malta, has 311 guest rooms, including 30 suites with balconies overlooking the Mediterranean. Amenities include an indoor and two outdoor pools and two tennis courts. Doubles start at about $226 a night. Reservations: 1-800-937-8461.The Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort opened in May in the town of St. George, 20 minutes from the capital of Valletta. The Victoria, in the town of Sliema, a 15-minute drive from Valletta, also opened in May. The 120-room hotel has a pool and a whirlpool, a main restaurant and coffee shop, and a cocktail bar modeled after a Victorian tearoom. The reservations numbers on Malta are 356-334-757, fax 356-334-771.
