Briarwood Conservatory for the Arts and Utah High School for the Performing and Fine Arts will be hosting an "Auction for Education" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at 825 E. 800 North.

The auction offers numerous unique items including a 10-acre cabin lot, automobiles, antiques, fine furniture and jewelry, pianos and other musical instruments, camping and exercise equipment, collectibles, glassware, original fine art and sculptures, weight-loss programs and more. Another item up for bids is a 1984 National Championship BYU game ball.Items can be previewed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the main auction will begin. A silent auction will be held throughout the day until 6 p.m.

Vocal Ease, a teen vocal jazz ensemble, will be the special guest entertainment for the event. A barbecue dinner will be available at a special price.

The auction is being held in conjunction with the reopening of the school's upgraded facility. Local businesses have donated more than $10,000 worth of goods and services to the face lift in preparation for the grand opening ceremony hosted by the Orem Chamber of Commerce at 11 a.m.
