Rowland Hall is the type of team that scares coaches. The Winged Lions are playing up a classification but always seem to knock off a ranked team or two in region play.
Park City, though, wasn't about to be the team getting upset. The Miners, ranked second among 3A teams, kept the offensive pressure on all game and cruised to an easy 7-0 win behind a pair of goals from Brittany Esty to improve to 9-0.
"This is a much-improved Rowland Hall team," said first-year Park City coach Chip Cook. "They played hard, and we did all the right things."
Those right things included practically giving goalkeeper Amanda Smith the day off. The Miner midfield dominated the ball and never rested.
Despite making several spectacular saves, Rowland Hall's keeper and defense simply couldn't withstand the unrelenting pressure.
"In the second half we really started winning the balls," Cook said. "We really came together today. I hope this is what we can show at state."
