MORRIS HAS A.D.D.: Bam Morris, back with the Baltimore Ravens after a four-week suspension, revealed he has attention deficit disorder. The running back was suspended last year after Texas police found six pounds of marijuana in his car.

MAVS, MAGIC STRIKE DEAL: The Dallas Mavericks traded point guard Derek Harper and forward Ed O'Bannon to the Orlando Magic for swingman Dennis Scott and $500,000 cash. Scott, a 6-foot-8 small forward, gives the Mavericks an outside shooting threat.
SONICS SIGN KERSEY: Jerome Kersey will play his 14th NBA season with the Seattle SuperSonics, who signed the 35-year-old forward to a one-year contract.

GRAND SLAM CUP: At Munich, Germany, Pete Sampras won at least $750,000 for his 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 opening-round victory over Spain's Felix Mantilla at the Grand Slam Cup. Australian Patrick Rafter, the U.S. Open champion, defeated Austrian Thomas Muster 6-2, 6-3 and collected $500,000. Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman ousted Boris Becker 6-3, 6-2.
