Why won't the Murray City Council let the people decide whether the city should grow by nearly 10,000 residents in a single annexation?

The City Council is hurrying to complete an annexation that will change the face of the city forever. But apparently they do not want to know what their own constituents think about it. The only two public meetings that have been held were conducted in July, when they knew most people would be gone on vacation. Even then, only one of the meetings was actually held in Murray. We elected a city council to represent the best interests of Murray, not the interests of people from another community. The City Council should abandon its efforts to annex Millcreek. But if they won't do that, the City Council should at least sponsor a vote by the people most affected by this major action.

Let the Murray voters decide.
