Auditions have been scheduled for the following productions:
- THREE WISE GUYS, Bob Bedore's new Christmas comedy, Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6:30 until 9 p.m. at the Off Broadway Theatre, 272 S. Main St.There are roles for two women and five men, from 18 to 36 years of age.
According to Bedore, this is a Three Stooges-style show and a tribute to the old-time comedies of the 1930s and '40s. It will have a great deal of physical comedy.
There will be cold readings from the script. There is no need to prepare any monologues or other material for the auditions. Actors selected for the production will be paid for their performances. Rehearsals begin Oct. 11 and play dates are Nov. 19-Jan. 2.

- SLEEPING BEAUTY: Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 7 and 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Salt Lake Repertory Theatre (City Rep), 638 S. State St.
The production has been adapted from the classic fairy tale by City Rep Artistic Director Joanne M. Parker, who will also direct.
All roles are open, including Beauty and the Prince, both 17 to 24 years of age.
Other roles include the King and Queen (adults), two younger girls to play Beauty as a child (one about 8 and the other 12 to 14); four "ageless" fairies, girls and women from 11 to 60; Cauldron, an evil fairy; Marlette, a comedic nanny, and male actors for the roles of Malworth, the high chancellor, and Frog. There are also various secondary roles for all ages and both genders as courtiers, princes, ladies in waiting and a scrubbing boy.
The roles of the courtiers and princes are comedy parts. All female roles require dance movement, which will be taught.
All auditoners should come prepared with a 30-second monologue from a fairy tale. Comfortable clothing is encouraged. Enter the theater through the stage door on the north side of the building.
Performances will be Nov. 15-28 and Jan. 12-Feb. 7 (with a short hiatus during the Christmas season for City Rep's holiday production of "The Christmas Express." In addition to regularly scheduled public performances on Monday, Friday and Saturday evenings and some Saturday matinees, there are also several daytime performances on Tuesdays-Thursdays for school groups.

- BABES IN TOYLAND: Oct. 2 and 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Draper City Hall for the Draper Arts Council production of "Babes in Toyland."
All roles are open and most parts are for performers 8 years of age and older who can act, sing and dance. Be prepared to sing (bring your own accompanist or taped music) and learn a dance routine (no clogging).
LaKaye Stevenson is directing the musical, which will run Dec. 4-5 and 8.
