Former Provo High School principal Patti Harrington has been selected Utah Principal of the Year by the Utah Association of Secondary School Principals.
The organization said Harrington displayed a willingness to take risks to help students, anticipated and solved problems and improved the school's learning environment.Harrington now serves as the assistant superintendent of Provo School District. As a district official, her new assignment includes technology planning and implementation.
She will attend the State Principals of the Year Symposium Oct. 4-7 in Washington, D.C., where the principals will speak with officials from the U.S. Department of Education.
