Eliza Irene Thurgood Pearce, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully January 5, 1998 at the home of her daughter in Alhambra, California.
Born May 5, 1904 in Syracuse, Utah to William "J" and Edith Alice Thurgood. She married Charles William Pearce in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, December 12, 1923. She has resided with her daughter for the past 13 years in Alhambra.She was an active member of the LDS Church in the Nibley Park Ward for 50 years and the Alhambra Ward for the past 13 years. She loved quilting, crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by her sons, Glen L. (Lucille) Pearce, St. George, Utah; Richard D. (Peggy) Pearce, Salt Lake; a daughter, Marian (L. Burt) Maxwell, Alhambra, Calif. She leaves 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eldon William Pearce; and her husband.
Funeral services will be today, January 10, 1998 at 11 a.m., held at the Alhambra Ward, 1212 South Eight Street, in Alhambra, California. Graveside services will be Monday, January 12, at 1 p.m. at Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral Directors, Turner & Stevens Mortuary, Alhambra, California.
