Adeline S. `Addie` Wood passed away January 11, 1998 in Salt Lake at St. Joseph's Villa.
Addie was affectionately known as Mimi. She was born January 6, 1905 in Salt Lake to James and Elizabeth Thorpe Stull. She married Boyden Lees (Brick) Wood September 5, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple.She is survived by a daughter, Shauna Wood Trabert; son-in-law, Karl Honeystein; and a son Roger Wood; all of California. She also has five grandchildren, Michael Trabert, Brooke Trabert Dabkowski, Heather Wood Wall, Whitney Wood, Derrick Wood, and six great-grandchildren.
After completing her first year of college, she became a professional millinery model for several years. During that time she met her husband to be, Brick Wood. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where they remained for five years. In 1935, they returned to Utah where they lived for the rest of their lives. She devoted her life to family and friends. Mimi was a friend and a `house mother` to several generations of her family and their friends, and has continued close to them throughout their adult lives.
Mimi's many friends enjoyed her lively spirit and engaging conversation. She was interested, always willing to listen, and had a ready laugh for visitors who found her home a warm and friendly center. She was a consummate and unconditional care giver to her children and grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend Funeral Services Thursday, January 15, 1998 at 1 pm at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, viewing will be one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linda Derrick Wood Endowed Scholarship Fund at the University of Utah Hospital, 50 North Medical Drive, #2753, SLC, Utah 84132. The fund was established to help support Masters students in Oncology nursing and medical students entering cancer research.
