Did piece of Hale-Bopp cause Colorado fireball?

A fireball in the sky over southwest Colorado last weekend could be a piece of the Hale-Bopp comet.

Front Range residents were treated to a spectacular light show shortly after midnight on Jan. 11 as a fireball streaked through the night sky. Robert Stencel, associate astronomy professor at the University of Denver, believes it is likely the meteorite is part of Hale-Bopp, which passed close to Earth last year.
