Construction on the Recife Brazil Temple, shown in rendering, is progressing. President Gordon B. Hinckley broke ground for the edifice Nov. 15, 1996. The temple - the Church's second in Brazil - should be completed before the turn of the century, said Elder W. Craig Zwick of the Seventy and president of the Brazil Area.
The temple district will include eight missions, including the newly announced Joao Pessoa mission, 47 stakes and 13 districts.
