Hugh Joshua Nelson, age 88, died January 7, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born March 16, 1909 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Pehr and Emile Lindstrom Nilsson. Married Ruth Kesler Crow on July 31, 1941, San Luis Obispo, California; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Retired from Greyhound Lines West and Greyhound Lines (1934 to 1974). Served as public relations representative for the Utah National Guard and Intermountain Association of Credit Men. Graduate of Los Angeles Police Academy and Military Police Academy at Ft. Custer, Michigan. Member of Utah Hot Stove Assoc., Old Time Athletes Assoc., Utah Sr. Golf Assoc., Ambassador Athletic Club, B.P.O.E. Lodge # 85, and International Footprinters Assoc. Chapter # 3. Veteran of WW II. Member of LDS Church, Monument Park 12th Ward.
Survived by his wife of Salt Lake City; a son, Douglas H. Nelson, of Midvale, Utah; sister, Winnifred Nilsson Burton of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by sister, Amy Nilsson Smith; brothers, Einar M. Nelson and William G. Nelson.
Funeral services Monday, January 12th, 12 Noon, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Sunday evening 6 to 8 PM, and Monday, one hour prior to services.
Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
