The Association of Nigerians, with support from the Utah Office of Black Affairs, will celebrate the 38th anniversary of Nigerian independence Saturday, Oct. 3.

The celebration, which begins at 5 p.m., features a dinner with exotic Nigerian food. The country's deputy ambassador to the United States, Kayode Garrick, will deliver the keynote address.A donation of $5 is requested for the dinner, to be held at the Salt Lake Community College South City Campus, 1575 S. State St.
