A judge dismissed an indictment accusing 17 members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club of a string of murders, arsons, bombings and drug deals.
U.S. District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller ruled Monday that the government failed to get timely authorization for wiretaps. But the judge added that "all is not lost" because prosecutors could appeal or seek a new indictment from a grand jury.Stadtmueller said the 13 defendants being held in jail will stay there for at least 30 days to give prosecutors time to appeal or seek another indictment. Three other defendants are free on bond, and one still is at large.
