Harold Witbeck, age 64, our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on October 24, 1998.
He was born November 9, 1933, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Dee and Margaret Witbeck. He served in the military and then served an LDS mission to Northern California.He married his eternal companion, Arva Johnson, from Delta, Utah, on December 20, 1957, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in various church callings in Sunday school, high priests, home teacher, stake mission, bishopric counselor and ward bishop.
He was self-employed as a contractor and worked at Buehner Concrete.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Brent, parents, brothers, Francis, Clair and Evan, and sister, Ann.
Survived by spouse, Arva, of West Valley; his five children, Marianne Rankin, West Jordan; Eileen Stallings (Richard), Blackfoot, Idaho, Wynette Ellis (Steve), Blackfoot, Idaho, David Witbeck (Keri), West Jordan; and ReNae Hymas (Doug), West Valley; three sisters, Olive Dunn, Carol Witbeck, and Nancy Pistorius; three brothers, Billings, Dan and Wallace; and 12 grandchildren.
He enjoyed his time fishing, outdoor recreation, time with family and grandchildren and serving all.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at 12 noon at the Granger South Stake Center, 4586 West 3960 South. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
