It may not look like it now, but this gash in the side of the mountain at the Utah Winter Sports Park near Park City will become the site of ski-jumping competitions during the 2002 Winter Games. Workers are scrambling to move dirt - more than 350,000 cubic yards, enough to fill most of Rice-Eccles Stadium - down the hill to build up the landing and spectator area at the bottom before the construction season ends. The 90-meter jump has been torn down but will be rebuilt in the spring along with a new 120-meter jump.
