Hunters who use high voltage electric lines and insulators as targets should think twice before squeezing the trigger, said Larry Ellertson, a Utah Power manager.

"Not only is the idea of shooting at overhead utility lines and structures dangerous, it costs customers thousands of dollars in repair bills annually," he said. "These lines carry very high voltages and are capable of seriously injuring someone, or maybe even worse."Additionally, the vandalism is expensive to repair and an inconvenience to customers when service is interrupted.
