Police arrested a robbery suspect after a brief foot chase through central Orem late Saturday.
A man demanded money from the clerk at Larsen's Fuel, 400 N. Orem Blvd., about 11:15 p.m., said Orem Police Lt. Karl Hirst. He didn't display a weapon but told the clerk he had one, Hirst said.She handed him a small amount of cash and he fled on foot.
Officers spotted the suspect about a block from the convenience store at an apartment where he stopped to use the telephone, Hirst said. The man ran as police arrived and they called Utah County sheriff's K-9 unit. The dogs found the man hiding in a shed two houses down from the apartment.
Hirst said police recovered the cash but didn't find a weapon.
A 24-year-old Sandy man was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery.
