Edna Mary Boley, 75, passed away October 5, 1998, after suffering a lingering illness.
She was born February 27, 1923, in American Fork, Utah, to Elisha Henry and Edna Sharp Boley. She graduated from American Fork High School and LDS Seminary in 1942 and attended Utah Trade Tech. She worked in Boley's Mercantile, Inc. in American Fork and also did volunteer work in the community. Edna was an active member of the LDS Church, and was endowed in the Salt Lake Temple. After her father's death in 1960, Edna was a companion to her mother. Her mother passed away in 1978. Like her pioneer ancestors, Edna met her challenges with courage and independence, being deaf since childhood, having diabetes, and having cancer on three different occasions.She loved and appreciated her family and friends, since they filled her life with joy. She had a special love for the employees of the Orchard Park Care Center in Orem for their continuous love, kindness, and medical care.
Edna is survived by her two sisters and brothers-in-law; JoAnne and E.W. Bush, of San Diego, and Nancy and Sterling J. Albrecht, of Orem; a loving niece, Melanie Albrecht Oviatt; six nephews and five other nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vilate B. McAllister, and a brother-in-law, Dr. James A. McAllister.
Funeral Services will be Friday, October 9, at 11 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
