Investigators examine a burned car Thursday morning about seven miles up Mill Creek Canyon. A body was found inside, and authorities said it was burned beyond recognition. Apparently the two-door compact smashed into a tree and burst into flames. The road was shut down about 9:30 a.m. and was to remain closed until investigators finished their onsite work. The heat apparently was so intense that the license plate was melted and the tires burned off. The investigation will be complicated because of the burned car, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Capt. Gilbert Howard said.
