A candlelight healing ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at The Christmas Box Angel Monument in Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Anyone who is mourning the loss of a child is invited to attend the fifth-annual vigil and lay a single, white flower at the base of the monument at the conclusion of the observance. The entrance to the cemetery is at Fourth Avenue and N Street.

The statue was commissioned by Richard Paul Evans, author of "The Christmas Box."

In the book, mostly fiction, a woman visits an angel monument to mourn the loss of her child. The child died on Dec. 6, the date of the annual Christmas Box Observance. Dec. 6 also is Children's Day, celebrated in many parts of the world.
