Benjamin Raymond Gardner, 61, of Salt Lake City, died December 1, 1998 after a long illness.
He was born April 20, 1937 in Sparks, Nevada to Benjamin Burgess and Helen Marie Hill Gardner.He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Married Deana Clements in 1962. Later divorced. He owned and operated Gardner Drilling Company, which was established by his father and operated currently by his son. He was a very loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by a son, Mark Raymond (Tammy) Gardner of South Jordan; daughters, Lisa Ann (Mark) Thompson of Logan; and Ann Marie (Matt) Paluso of Farmington; brother, Gregory James (Jean) Gardner; sisters, Jackie Leatham and Patricia Clark, all of Salt Lake City; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1040 West 400 South. A vigil service will be held Friday, 9 a.m. also at the church, where friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
