J. Charles Webb Knight, 78, after a hard-fought battle with cancer passed away on November 13, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah

He was born on July 9, 1920 in Hinckley, Utah, to James Aubrey and Rose Elizabeth Webb Knight. He graduated from Hinckley High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Amelia Malowanny. August 8, 1947. They later separated. He lived and worked in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for Safeway of Canada. After retirement, he returned to UtahHe is survived by his wife, (Edmonton); three children; Darlene (Joe) Grigel, Scottsdale, AZ; Gary Knight and Ricky (Charlene) Knight. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; three grandchildren; a sister, Vola Bunker, Washington, Utah; and two brothers, Jesse A. Salt Lake City, Utah; Ralph E. San Francisco, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 3, at 3 p.m. at Utah Veterans Memoral Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road (Redwood Road).
