UPS TO UNVEIL A NEW FACILITY AT S.L. AIRPORT CARGO COMPLEX
United Parcel Service was scheduled to hold grand opening ceremonies Thursday afternoon for its new $1.16 million processing facility at the Salt Lake International Airport, the first to be built in the airport's new cargo complex at 3815 W. 1580 North.Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann said UPS is the first cargo carrier to be located in the new $11.27 million, 473,400-square-foot cargo complex located at the airport's north end. For years, cargo operations have all been based at the south end of the airport. While UPS is the first to move, the others will eventually join it in the new space, said Gann.
The new UPS building has 26,170 square feet of warehouse space and 2,000 feet of office. Some 76 UPS employees moved into the new facility last week.
An open house was scheduled for 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a ceremony and demonstration of the cargo operation.
UPS headquarters are in Atlanta and its airline is based in Louisville, Ky. UPS spokesman Steve Goodrich said representatives of Utah's congressional delegation, the city and UPS management were expected to be in attendance.
DELTA IS GROUNDING SERVICE TO PRAGUE, 2 CITIES IN CANADA
Delta Air Lines will discontinue service to three international destinations and to Bangor, Maine, next year, part of its continuing effort to concentrate planes on more profitable routes.

Delta will continue to fly its Stuttgart route and will sell seats to Prague aboard its code-share partner, Swissair.
