David Lamont Jensen, a familiar face in Utah theater circles, has died. He was 50.

Mr. Jensen appeared on television, in films and on stage. Most recently, he acted in Pioneer Theatre Company's 1998 season opener production of "1776" and was featured in numerous episodes of "Touched by an Angel.""He was an agent's dream," says Susie McCarty, who represented Jensen for the past 15 years. "He had a remarkable success rate and always came back with the job. That says a lot about his skills as an actor and his sensitivity and diversity in his work. It's a great loss to the acting community."

He was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Logan, son of Keith and Pearl Jensen. He was a graduate of Utah State University and received a master's degree in theater arts from the University of California in San Diego. During the Vietnam War, he served as a communications specialist in the United States Navy.

Mr. Jensen was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors' Equity Association.

In 1969, he married Carole L. Taylor. The couple later divorced. They are the parents of two children, Jesse Taylor Jensen and Anna Maren Jensen. In 1997, he married actress Jan L. Anderson. They have one son, Ryker Jensen.

He is survived by his wife and children, of Salt Lake City; his parents; brother Rick Jensen; sister Terrie Bryant; and numerous extended family members in Logan.

Funeral was Thursday at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
