OREM -- Gov. Mike Leavitt will choose between two candidates to fill a vacancy in Utah House District 58.

Delegates in the district forwarded the names of Marlon Snow and Mark Bowman for the governor's consideration after a vote Thursday night. Snow is a former chairman of the State Board of Education. Bowman, an Orem dentist, is making his first foray into politics.Newly appointed state Sen. John Valentine formerly held the seat. The district includes north Orem, Lindon and Pleasant Grove.
