A 35-year-old Heber City man intending to offer two men money for sexual favors instead was abducted, choked with a belt and robbed of his car.

Police arrested two men for investigation of aggravated assault, kidnapping and extortion. The incident started Wednesday evening after the victim picked up the two men at about 79 E. Exchange Place.

All three agreed to go to an area west of the Salt Lake International Airport, where one of the men then placed a belt around the victim's neck, hit him in the head several times and threatened to kill him.

The two then forced the victim to write out a bill of sale on his car. They put him in the back of the car, a police report said, and drove around the Salt Lake Valley before dropping him off in Murray in the parking lot of a grocery store.

They took off in his vehicle, police said.

Officers caught up with the pair after a police broadcast was put out on the stolen vehicle. The car was spotted in a parking lot at about 181 S. 900 West at about 11:45 p.m.

The two were arrested at gunpoint, the report said, and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
