ORANGEVILLE -- Lee G. Humphrey, 84, died Wednesday, December 2, 1998 in American Fork.

Lee was born minutes before his twin brother, Dee, on July 20, 1914 to Wilford J. Humphrey and Lillie Sophia Christensen. He married Phyllis Killian on September 4, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on May 20, 1958.Lee worked in the coal mines and on I-70, but his real love was raising sheep and growing crops on his farm he called "Poverty Flats." His cure for everything was "wear wool and eat lamb!" Lee and Phyllis enjoyed preparing lamb frys with Mark and Merene Humphrey. He was active in the LDS Church serving as Sunday School Superintendent, High Priest Group Leader and his favorite, Stake Missionary. He loved people and had a wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his six daughters and their husbands, Margalynn (Riedel) George, Patricia (Jan) Saeger, Virginia (Doug) Goff, Lilly (John) Taylor, Jaquelin (Edward) McKay, and Jane Lee (Gary) Jensen; 30 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Stilson, and two brothers, Howard and Tom Humphrey.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 5 at 11 a.m. in the Orangeville LDS Chapel, where friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Orangeville Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
