I am writing in response to Jo Ellen Ashworth's letter that appeared on Nov. 24. Her letter stated that the SLOC is promoting an anti-Mormon Olympics. I am also active LDS, but unlike Ashworth, I will be volunteering for the 2002 Olympics.
What a wonderful opportunity to be involved as we welcome the world to this great state and our culture. If there is an anti-Mormon sentiment, what better way to counter it than to get involved. Let's not turn our backs on the 2002 Olympics but rather do what the good Samaritan did, and not "pass by on the other side."Aimee Newton
