I have been home from my mission for three years. I, at first, had a very difficult time adjusting to "normal life." Here is what has helped me:

Read the scriptures every day, even if it is only one verse.Pray, morning, noon and night. Have a prayer in your heart always. Prayer can make any situation lighter and better. It is so much harder to pray for yourself and your needs than for others and theirs. It will take some work.

Accept a calling. You need to share with others what you have learned and what you know. You need to continue with your service in the Church and kingdom.

Attend a temple as often as you can. It gives you so much peace and an added perspective on things.

Continue in some way to provide community service.

Continue to be happy, to laugh, to love and to serve people as you did on your mission. Enjoy your time here on this earth. Life is so wonderful. Tell others your experiences. Others will have a desire to serve because of you.

Live up to the values you taught to others and how you conducted yourself as a missionary.

Have confidence in yourself, and things will work out for the best for you. -- Lisa Smith, Kooskia, Idaho
